Meredith Salenger
Salenger is a native of California and was born in Malibu. She was an avid child and enjoyed performing in front of her friends and family. Aged 8 when her mother enrolled her for her first acting school. Her first acting role was just a tiny part of an orphan singing and dancing' in the feature film Annie directed by John Huston. Salenger did several television ads. Salenger's first starring role was on the Disney production The Journey of Natty Gann featuring John Cusack and Ray Wise and was the very first US movie to win the coveted gold prize at the Moscow Film Festival. It also won her "Best actress in a Drama" during the Youth in Film Awards for her portrayal as the charming Natty Gann. The actress also appeared in four movies before turning the age of 18. One of the films featured in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Then she went to Harvard to further her education.
